Welcome to our first official Afternoon Tea review! On July 20th we visited Woburn Coffee House for their classic Afternoon tea in the beautiful orangery.
Set back from the road, this stunning coffee house is a real gem. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us through to the orangery and got us seated with the menu. The setting here really is beautiful, and we were lucky with the weather so the doors were folded back to give views of the garden too. It’s worth noting that we requested to sit here when booking.

After choosing from a selection of teas, coffee and cold drinks we were wowed by the sheer size of the afternoon tea stand that was put before us! The towering stand was full of savoury and sweets, working from the top up.

“Having been to the Woburn Coffee House a few times before with family, I thought it was a great place to introduce the girls to and enjoy the Summer Traditional Afternoon Tea. As we travel from both North and South between us all, it is also well-suited in terms of a ‘meet in the middle’ location.
The out-of-the-ordinary afternoon tea is presented on five tiers from savoury up to sweet. My particular favourites were the Pulled barbeque shoulder of lamb on a honey and sesame bagel, chargrilled little gem lettuce with mint and chilli aioli as well as the Poppy seed and lemon drizzle scone, strawberry preserve and clotted cream- accompanied by a pot of green tea (followed by a pink lemonade). There could’ve been a wider variety of teas to choose from but the basics were covered which sufficed.
In terms of service, we had quite a softly spoken waitress who was hard to hear alongside the two large tables celebrating alongside us in the Orangery. These bigger tables also meant we were sometimes waiting a little while for service but we managed to get by without any major issues. Overall, at £29.95 per person, I thought the afternoon tea was good value for money and will definitely visit again”
